BartMan01: Vista Install Prompt
« on: November 21, 2007, 10:31:11 am »

This is not a new issue, but the install is not 100% Vista ready.  At the end, I have always gotten a message box stating that the OS can't tell if the app installed properly with a prompt.

It installs fine.  Vista does this for some reason to be helpful.

We can't figure out what it's not happy about (if anything since I see this dialog all the time at home for other programs).

Vista is being too smart for its own good.  We have a manifest in the installer, but not the self-extracting package.  It thinks this means we're not Vista aware (sigh).

Build 378 and later addresses this.

It seems like a bug with the Program Compatibility Assistant to me.
