I just installed a new boot hard drive with a fresh install of XP. before i removed the old hard drive i did a library backup and copied the media center folder to a folder on my d drive (this is also the drive my music is stored on). when i installed media center 11.0.316 (the same version that was on the old HD) and tried to restore the library, the info was there but MC didnt let me play any of the music, it says path is not found. yet in mc the songs filename is the same as it was with the old hd.
this is what i've tried.

1. install MC, import media (all songs on d drive), then restore library.  all songs imported are gone and just the info from the restore is there.

2. restore library. info from restore is there, but no songs play (path not found). import all songs, the all songs appear twice. the new imported songs play the restord library still path not found.

If the drive letter is all that has changed, you can select a few files, then do a right click, Library tools, Find and Replace to substitue a new drive letter for the old.  D: for C:, for example. 

Be cautious about using this.  Test a few first.

Then the path must be different.  Try duplicating it or changing it with the same tool.
