DVD playback screenshot
« on: December 17, 2007, 10:34:38 am »

Is there a way to take a screenshot (for thumbnail) while playing IFO files within MC?
Thanks for any info.

I don't use MC for DVD playback but I assume it should be the same than any other video format. When in playback, right-click on the display at the desired point -> Use Screen Grab As Thumbnail.

Hope it works.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I should have made it clearer, though, that the reason I was asking about screenshots with this particular format is precisely because it doesn't work the way you mention; the option simply doesn't present itself upon right-clicking. Still, very nice of you to answer despite not using MC for DVD playback.  ;)

That option is not available for DVD playback. I probably should add it.

Thanks, it's always great to have this option, even though DVD cover artwork is readily available online.

It was added in 12.0.400.

I don't think it works. The option is there, but nothing happens when I use it.  ?

What video renderer do you use?

Screen grab works reliably with Video Mixing Renderer 9, Video Mixing Renderer 7, and Enhanced Video Renderer. If you use Legacy video renderer, you have to first pause video to get the option. Even then you may or may not be able to grab an image, depending on your video card.

IIRC, I'm using Video Renderer 9 and I have an 8800GT, just a month old, with the latest XP drivers updated a few days ago. I'll double check and get back to you here.

My video renderer was set to "auto". I've changed that to video renderer 9 and all is well. Thanks for the tip and the feature.
