the pleasure of conversion
« on: January 05, 2008, 02:19:45 am »

I recently ran into a many-file audiobook that played fine in MC but crapped out on my iPod nano. I suspected the mp3s were somehow corrupted. Given that the bitrate was high enough, I thought why not try transcoding them to a lower bit rate to see if MC's encoder would clean up the corruption?

With one click MC...
- converted all the tracks
- preserved all of my tags
- kept the audio analysis
- preserved the artwork
- preserved the folder and file names
- preserved all of my playlists that referenced the audiobook
- moved the original files to the recycle bin

With another click MC synced my iPod with the converted files, and voila, the audiobook played perfectly on my iPod.

What more can I say. Thank you.
