Most played songs / week

Hi all!

I really like the idea of the playlist "Top Hits" but I miss something there. This playlist is showing All time Top Hits, but is it possible to create a smartlist with a similar feature, but showing this weeks top hits (or month, year or day, whatever)? That could be REALLY cool!!

Any ideas? Or is the counter "number of times played" not connected to dates?

This work to know what songs have you played, but not to know how much times have you listened the songs.
Maybe this have to go to wishlist but a sort of top hits smartlist that you can set for week or month or... and with the exact number of times played in this partial time, it's the thing that i want (and Marty3d too, i think). I'd like to keep the all time top hits, but i'd like to do some cd's with each month's top hits and i don't find how to do it, but it could be possible with this top hits smartlist

Number of plays will be a column you can turn on in MJ 9. (all database fields and columns are customizable)

Also, smartlists may allow some form of sorting syntax. (like: lastplayed=<10080 ~sort=[Number Plays] ~t=30 to get the 30 most played songs of the week)

Is it possible to name a time, when then 9er-version comes to beta for all of us? A rough timeframe would be enough (well... somewhat like "between a day and a year" would be not *g*).

Great to know that "Number of plays will be a column you can turn on in MJ 9", but, could we know how many times we've listened each song in a period of time (week, month, etc.)?. I think that this is one important thing to improve Top Hits.

Question to Matt: After searching through the help, I noticed that ~sort doesn't exist. Actually, when I try to use it, MJ translates it to "limit to 0mb"...

How does MJ handle number of plays? Is it total for the song or just that specific period?

I was talking about hypothetical version 9 stuff.  It won't work in MJ 8.

As for a release date of 9, well, it's too soon to say...
