Trying MC again
« on: January 13, 2008, 06:55:54 pm »

Hello!

I love Media Center, and tried it last summer. It caused my computer to freeze. The mouse would still move, but no programs would open until I rebooted. I'm going to reformat, and this might be a good time to re-try Media Center.

Here are  my specs. Do you see any possible conflicts?

HP m7350n  running Media Center 2005/Vista Home Premium (dual boot)

NVidea Geforce 7300 GT video card

Hauppauge Wintv PVR tuner

I don't want to run into the same problem with a newly formatted Hard Drive and reinstalled OS...

Thanks, Gord

I have the Hauppauge 1600 and it almost works perfectly.  I know Yaobing may be adding a specific fix for the card, too, so that may be perfect at that point.

Otherwise it works great on every machine in this house!  Yes, there is a continuous stream of feature requests with bugs mixed in (for flavor) but it's the best thing going for media by far.

Yes, I love the program. I'll reinstall it as one of my core programs and try again. If the conflict occurs again, I'll have a better idea of what's causing it.

Thanks, Gordon
