HELP. Some album pics wont show up on Ipod and albums are being duplicated

Question 1.
I noticed that on my Ipod after syncing with media center 12 some of the album artwork wont show up for certain albums even though many other albums that were synced at the same time had the artwork show on the Ipod. I have mp3 folders on my desktop and then i find the album pic and put it in the folder then drag/drop to media center. Is there another way or am i doing this right?

Question 2.
I also noticed that some of the albums duplicated themselves in the ipod up to as many as 4 times for the same album even though media center shows only 1 instance of the album.

Please help me, thanks.

Album art has been pretty slipery to nail down, but has recently been very solid. Make sure the following are true:

1) You are running the latest version of Media Center or Media Jukebox
2) You have the latest firmware on your iPod
3) Once 1 & 2 are satisfied you will have to clear (Initialize) the iPod and retransfer to get rid of bad album art

If you continue to have problems, please let us know your iPod model, the firmware version and the version of MC or MJ you are running.

Ok thanks. How do i know if i have the most recent firmware? I guess i could always go into i-tunes and update the ipod but i always think that if i do an update then things will start being blocked like certain mp3s that are copywrited and all that garbage.

The media center version I am using is MC 12, is that good? And when you say I should "initialize" does that mean just format the ipod so it will go back to factory settings?

thanks

2) You have the latest firmware on your iPod

It should be noted that apple JUST came out with a new firmware for the iPod Classic (1.1) that a lot of users on other websites are reporting problems with.  Has the 1.1 firmware been tested with MC yet?

Thanks,

Larry

Thats the main reason i dont want to do updates, all they will do is cause great programs like MC12 to stop working how they should since apple wants you to use i-tunes crap. I dont think i will ever do an update for this reason, apple ticks me off.

Unfortunately, the opposite is also true sometimes -- i.e. you have to update the iPod in order to get MC to work correctly with it.
