Is weather hardware?
« on: February 06, 2008, 09:22:51 pm »

We just received around 14" of snow here in Cedar Rapids, IA.  It's quite impressive.  I'd take some pictures but it's dark out now.  I didn't have to go to work or school today!  I spent the day working on a web site I'm working on.  My co-worker and I have been really hoping for an outlandish two feet of snow.  Well, we came reasonably close.

I'm going to our local news station on Saturday for a tour with the chief meteorologist (who I know).  He is quite pleased to be having a real winter since the last one was in 2000.  Before this storm we were at ~38" total snowfall with 30" being a *normal* winter.  So I guess we're up to 52" or so.  And those ice storms!  Just a wintry mixture with all the ice, sleet, hail, thunderstorms & lightning, snow, blizzards, and wind chills!  We're getting a good round this year.

I'm sorta liking the extra snow.  I like the excitement of slowdowns, being late (with good reason), hearing about bad things on the radio, and days off.  Gotta say it's interesting.  (it really is.  it's Interesting!)
