New problem with 4th Gen 20Gb
« on: February 07, 2008, 02:07:48 pm »

Been using this Ipod with MC for a couple of months now and have run into a new problem.

I've got 14 playlists of .WMA and Mp3 files totaling about 13 gig after the convert/xfer to the Ipod.  All of a sudden it started locking up MC when I tried to sync.  I restored the Ipod then installed 12.0.428, same problem.

I then tried to sync just one playlist and it worked fine.  Tried a full sync and locks up.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Could some of the WMA files be protected by DRM?

Try a smaller sync or one with only MP3 files.

Thanks much for the quick reply.  I've tried a little more and got to a point that if I try to add any other playlist it locks up almost as soon as it starts.  With what is on the device now if I try to add any other single playlist it locks as soon as it trys to transfer the first file.
I didn't think of it before but, I was doing this restore/sync because the device was messing up during p;ayback.
Could the HD on the device be failing?  Is there a way to check?
Thanks again!

Please enable logging in Help > Logging, then restart and get it to hang.

After you wait a while, use Help > Logging to email the log to matt at jriver dot com.

Thanks!

Pretty sure it was caused by the Ipod.  It doesn't work anymore.  Thanks for the help.
