Hello,

  I just did this on another laptop and now cannot
remember how I did it.

I've imported MP4 files into media center.
When I view them, the artist - name are within the Name field.
Ex: Billy Joel - Just the way you are.

I need to seperate  "Just the way you are" to place under the name field
& Billy Joel to place under the artist field.

How can I do this without editing each song?

Hi,

If your files are named something like "Rolling Stones - Angie.mp3" then do the following:

- Select all your Files
- Do RMC (Right Mouse Click) then Library Tools>Fill Properties From Filename....
- Select the Filename field and enter [Artist] - [Name] (it's the default anyway)
- Unselect the Directory field
- Click Ok
That should fill the Artist field with the first part of your filename and the Name field with the rest.

Do this on one ore two to start with. Once confident do the rest.
