JRiver 12.0.428 and Net Remote 2.0
« on: February 21, 2008, 06:51:45 am »

Hello how are you?

Maybe you can help me. I am using NetRemote with a Qtek 9100 to control the JRiver Media Centre. All is allright but when i go to music in my NetRemote, i canīt choose the MediaLibrary folder. So i canīt see my music by cover, artist, album, etc.
I try to change the library in JRiver but still not working. I only can select in NetRemote the Playlist file, and it works well but without "cover tree" to select (and without the Album, Artist specific folder, just all the songs titles).

I try to select Windows Media Player in NetRemote Media Bridge and works perfect. I can select the Library and the see the covers, etc. but i need to use to JRiver.

Sorry for my english, i hope someone can help me. Thank you

Welcome to Interact.  Your English is fine.

Did you ask on the Netremote forum at promixis.com?

Maybe the versions are mis-matched.  Check what they recommend.

I have exactly the same Problem and at the netremote Forum they asked for the Library Root that is used "internally" by MC12. They suggested to try:
Media Library\Audio
Audio
etc..

I tried nearly every thinkable path

With MC11 i don't have any problems. Did the library "paths" change in MC12? I upgraded MC12 2 weeks ago

Check in MC under Tools/Options/File Location to find where your media is.

Your MC library files are probably in C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\J River\Media Center 12\Library.  Application Data may be a hidden folder.

Sorry, i didn't explain it correctly

I didn't mean the database files. I mean the Tree in the left pane.

Media Library/Audio/Artist/Album
Media Library/Images
Media Library/Playlists
...

I think at the NR-forum they meant the interface that is used to control MC.

I use this path: "Media Library\Audio". Capital letters are important. This works for me.
Which NR skin are you using, and do you want to browse your music as a list or by album covers? If it's the last one then you need to arrange your viewschemes as defined in the skin.

How's the performance of NR with MC12? I'm thinking of trying a Nokia N800 or N810.

I'm running NR with a WM6 on a Dell Axim and I'm very pleased with the performance. I have around 45000 songs but the transfer of artist/album list still takes less than a minute. After that it is loaded in memory and it's all very responsive.

Great. I used to have an Axim V51 a few years ago but sold it. I think Promixis must have improved NR interaction with MC because it was touch and go back then.

It has been stable enough for me. Maybe you expect more or used it differently than I do? My only problem with the Axim/NR combo was the wifi connection. Upgrading to WM6 fixed that for me, better batterylife also.

Yep, I was using WM5 and the whole operation (load times with NR) was problematic.
