Credit for MP3 encoder when upgrading to Media Center
« on: July 28, 2008, 07:39:23 pm »

Hi,
I installed the free Media Jukebox app this evening and really liked it. So much better than iTunes...
While loading music into my iPod, I bought the MP3 encoder. (Had an odd file type that needed conversion.) Now I've decided to move up to Media Center, which as I understand from reading the list of features, includes the MP3 encoder.

Can you see where this is heading? I'd like to apply the $9.99 I just spent on the encoder against the $39.99 for Media Center. Can we work out something here? Seems only fair.

Welcome to Media World.  Give us a week to see if we can figure out how to do that.  It's something we should do.  In the meantime, the trial period of MC should work for you.

When I Go To Sears, I Always Ask For A 10% Discount, They Have Always Found A Way To Give Me A 10% Discount.

In Many Countries They Normally Barter The Price Of What The Marketeer Is Selling.

I Have Bought Many Programs On The Internet By Asking For A Discount (Normally Any Program Over $100).

I Find It Interesting This Question Has Not Come Up In The Past 6 Months.

Sounds Like A Good Idea For Both Parties.

Best of all, it would encourage both initial and subsequent purchases--the company sells more and the customers are more motivated to leave iTunes by the side of the road. Peace of mind and eternal joy for all concerned.

After a system restore, my 30-day trial expired even though I installed it just over a week ago.
Any progress on crediting the MP3 converter purchase against the purchase of a full Media Center license?

Yes, it's done, though I can't find it in the history now...

John I Think He Is Saying That He Bought MC Before The Changes, And He Is Waiting For His Refund.

What I mean is if I purchase the full version, will it cost $9.99 less than usual in that I bought the MP3 plugin that is a part of the full version.

It should, but get the latest build from the download page here and install it first.  Then watch the price carefully.  Let us know if you have trouble.

Thanks for upgrading.

Installation and payment went just fine. Thanks for your help!

But the reason for the system restore I mentioned before has returned. After upgrading to the newest build yesterday (I think), I get the "Windows Explorer has stopped working" dialog box. Same thing happening now too. I'll continue this on another thread.
