I still cannot convert files to mp3 using Media Jukebox. It requires a 'license' even though I have a fully licensed copy of Media Center sitting in the very next sub-directory.

Is this "by design" or a bug?
I'd expect that my MC instal should allow MJ to do conversions.

That's just how the licensing works.

OK  ?  so how do you get it to work encoding mp3?

Please do not tell me I must purchase some sort of license as I already have two paid software licenses for products that do encode mp3's on this machine, one being Media Center.

I guess you'll need to buy a license. I think a MC license doesn't work for MJ up to now...

How do I download 24/96 or other dvd type codecs in MJ? Or do I have to get MC?

I m in the same situation, i can't rip CD's while i have bought the MC version already. I think it's not very clever to ask me to pay 10$ more, it's much simpler to go on with MC (while it's true that i like MJ more ...)

Or, you could just download LAME for free and set MC to use it as an external encoder

I don't know if it's been pointed out, but this build refuses to recognise my iPod. Its a Nano, the first generation Nano... I will uninstall and re-install tonight and post the results. But for the moment it just wont recognise it. Works fine in 34 so I have reverted back to that.

Keep up the good work ;D

Things to try when iPods aren't recognised by MC...

1. Redetect All Devices - Tools > Options > Handheld > Redetect All Devices...

2. Can you see it in My Computer? If not, make sure Enable Disk Use is set for that iPod in iTunes.

3. Make sure there isn't a 'DCIM' folder at the root of the iPod - this could trick some versions of MJ or MC into viewing the device as a camera.

4. If nothing works, send us your log files:
 - Turn on logging to a file from the Help menu, make sure Handheld events are on
 - Restart MJ
 - Wait for about a minute, go back into the logging dialog and email the logs to (rick at jriver dot com)
