Importing and renaming images
« on: March 18, 2008, 03:12:16 pm »

I'm starting to use MC for my images, and would like it to import my images also. What I've done in the past is to rename my images to this folder structure: year\month\day\ddmm-hhmmss.jpg.
With rename from properties I get almost what I want except the time. Is this possible?
I often get images from friends and renaming them this way sorts them automatically.

Would it be possible to add an option to set MC to autoimport from my camera whenever it is connected?

Figured it out myself.
RemoveLeft(FormatDate(filename),4) > this gives ddmm-hhmmss.jpg. :)

I'd still like MC to import from my camera whenever i connect it though. Pretty please?

We could do it.  I'm not sure I would want it.  There are times I might plug my camera in, but not want to get images.  Cell phones could also have similar issues.

If other people think we should, we'll take a look at it.

Thanks for reporting what you found on the other problem.
