Currently on MC v 12.0.451
Main library on server
Laptop connected through MC server/client feature
iPod 60GB connected to laptop

What I want to do is of course to fill up my iPod with mp3-files (no conversion) from the server.
Problem: The temp-directory on the laptop is filled up with all the mp3-files I try to copy to the iPod.
MC does not clean up / delete these files after the copy, or after restarting MC.

I have seen that other have had similar/related problems, but I don't understand if this has been resolved in the last minor releases.
... and I must admit it is a bit scary to upgrade to the latest version (459)

Did you set up a cache directory for conversion?  If so, you're seeing what is expected.  MC's default is not to store the converted files on the PC.  It's an option under handheld/conversion.  Note that this is changing with stacks.

On the Client-side of MC (Laptop) the following has been set for the iPod-device in question:
In Options --> Handheld --> Audio:
NO-TIC  "Copy and stack Converted files"
TIC       "Use stac file if available"                              whatever this means in this context
           Mode: Convert unsupported formats
           Encoder: MP3 Encoder

It sounds like you're using Library Server and syncing from the client to the iPod.  Is that right?
