Jump to a random track
« on: March 31, 2008, 02:01:28 pm »

I'm trying out MC12 and one feature is missing, the ability to jump to a random track, without disturbing the sequence of the playing now-list, is that possible to obtain? I also like the function in foobar where if you mark a song, it will automatically jump to that song when the current one is finished. That would be a nice feature to have.

MC's options allow you to alter the behavior of double click.

Tools/Options/General/Behavior

You can also drag a track to a different location in Playing Now.

Try enabling Shuffle Mode.

Playing Now always shows the order that files will be played.  This allows you to customize a shuffle.

Yeah, but I don't want the order to be changed, I want to jump to a random song in the playlist, and if I like the artist, it will just continue to play the rest of the songs on the playlist in "normal" order. I can in a way get around it by turning on shuffle, and then later sort by filename, but that is a more clicks, less optimzed for remote, not to speak of it talking around 5 seconds to shuffle the tracks, and 5 seconds to reorder them.

There is nothing frong with the suffle-function per se, I would just like a "skip to random" button in addition.
