Hi!

Is there a possibility to hide the mouse cursor in theater view? I'm using the latest version (487) with a touchscreen and would like to get rid of the mouse pointer completely as a don't need it.

dont know, but when i start up theater view the mouse cursor disappeares a split second later, and when i use my remote it does not return. but then, i have no idea how a touch screen works.

Is there a mouse?  gappie's right.  It should disappear in a second or two.  It reappears when you move the mouse.

My understanding is that most touchscreen drivers emulate a mouse. The mouse cursor shows up when the touchscreen is clicked.

One "brute force" way of doing it would be to create an empty cursor (using an editor capable of creating .CUR files), put it in C:\Windows\Cursors and set Windows to use that.

One such editor is here, though I've never used it so I don't know if it's any good or not, but it should do the job:

Of course, if you use the computer for anything other than MC in Theatre View, it might make using it a bit tricky!

You can hide the mouse pointer programmatically, using vb for instance. Eg: http://www.devx.com/vb2themax/Tip/18490

you can use YASA to hide the mouse pointer

just create a shortcut "Yasa.exe HideMouse" or to show the pointer "Yasa.exe ShowMouse"

I'd like to understand this better, because as JimH stated, Media Center _does_ hide and show the mouse cursor in Theater View and Display View.

The mouse pointer appears alongside the context menu when I press OK on my MCE remote over an item in Theatre View.  I'm guessing that's supposed to happen, but I'd prefer it didn't.

Also, when using the G-Force vis, the mouse pointer appears when in Display View but refuses to disappear until I move the mouse pointer so that Slim appears. The pointer then disappears along with Slim.

To get around all this I put the mouse pointer out of sight in the bottom right corner before I enter Theatre View.
