GDI.EXE
« on: August 01, 2002, 07:59:24 am »

I am getting a lot of GDI.EXE general protection faults, especially when navigating the Plug In menu's. According to some previous posts  this can be linked to the video card.I am using a ATI RAGE PRO TURBO AGP with the drivers off the 98SE disk. Does anyone know if this could be the problem ?

See if you can find updated drivers from the manufacturer.

Thanks Jim,
ATI recommend the driver that I am using, off the 98SE disk. There is another one listed with support for OpenGL, do I need this?

"or try going to control panel - add remove programs - choose internet explorer and then put the dot in "repair" radio button"

Tried this fix, which was recommended by 'shdbcamping'in another post, and it worked. No more faults or stability problems.

                        Many Thanks
