How to remove moved files?
« on: May 27, 2008, 07:44:44 pm »

I am sorry if this is available somewhere, but I was unable to find it.  I recently moved a bunch of music files, as well as changed the tags on some.  When I imported them into my library, they imported just fine, except the old ones were still there as well (w/ the red X, showing that the file doesn't exist).  How do I remove these bad ones from my library without having to do them individually (Literally over 1000... could take a very long time)?  Thanks.

Try:
Options > Library & Folders > Auto-import > Options > Fix broken links: Yes

Then:
Tools > Run Auto-Import Now

If that doesn't work (it may not be willing to remove broken links if 50% of your library looks broken), make a smartlist to find all the broken links and erase manually.  (i.e. [Filename]=M:\)
