iPhone Broken
« on: June 09, 2008, 09:28:04 am »

My iphone thinks headphones are plugged in.  Isn't there a pin in the headphone jack that senses this?  I bet a piece of dust got stuck in there and is holding it down.  I'm going to go to the AT&T store as soon as the new iphone comes out (few hours???) and then tell them it's broken and hope they can't fix it...!!

How about getting one of those compressed air cannisters and blowing it in there?

I need closure on this.  What happened with your phone?

I'm at a loss.  This is something I need to fix but just don't have the will power to fix it knowing I'll probably be getting the new iphone soon enough.  Let's stop discussing this.

Considering the new one is dirt cheap, I'll probably have to give it away...

The software update appears to have fixed this headphone jack problem.  No idea how that could fix what appeared to be a hardware malfunction...oh well.  Uhh, the i started as far as I know with the Compaq iPaq.  I purchased the 3835 and the HX4700, both of which were $600+ with ~128MB of memory and nowhere near the power of the iphone, or the GUI!

But my HX4700 is still a great device.  I've been seriously considering using it again.  The Mac platform is so integrated and awesome but has some serious drawbacks.  Nothing is perfect yet!
