Hey pals,

Could someone tell me how to restore my library under a new path? (the 'Library Backup' points to the old location)

I had to change the drive letter from X:/ (original library location, former hard drive) to M:/ (new location, network folder) and I would like to rename the root folder of my library to the highly imaginative name 'Library' as well.

I tried the following:
I restored my Library from Zip-File, then I added the new location M:/Library/ as auto-import folder in MC and ran auto-import. But MC didn't update the broken links, but apparently imported my tunes as new files, even though I had the option 'update broken links (protect network locations)' enabled.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanx for your help!

You should not try to use Auto-importer for that. Restore the library once again, disable Auto-importer and use the Rename, Move, & Copy files tool. It has options for changing a part of the directory path and applying the changes only to the library.

EDIT

I have posted some instructions and a screenshot of the options here:
