 when a capture box is locate between tv and pc using for pc usb or dv connector
does jriver let us program showview  ( or more easy use free epg ) by
1 selecting tv channel  using an ir device ( girder )
2 start stop record input from uisb dv connector

see command line item in scheduler task , which record tool name accept record video using directshow ( virtualdub,avisynth ?)
it  a shame there is no item "script " using vb that can contain third tool using for example ranorex ( compile script in exe format )
it  a shame DVB web scheduler don't work for external tuner device that have output compatible with capture deevice ( card box motherboard )

I am not sure I understood your question.

If your setup is like this:

Cable/Antenna -> TV Tuner device connected to PC (either in PCI slot, or USB) -> Output to monitor or TV set from PC

then you can tune to a channel using remote control, and can schedule MC to record a channel at specified time.

If your setup is like this, on the other hand:

Cable/Satellite dish -> Cable/satellite set-top box -> (via Composite video or S-Video) to capture card in PC -> output

then you can not control channel switching from inside of MC, and can not do scheduled recording.
