FLAC -> Apple lossless?
« on: June 24, 2008, 04:52:41 am »

How do I have MC covert FLACs to apple lossless on sync with an ipod?  I have the dbpoweramp AAC command-line encoder.

In handheld options, set the encoder to "External Encoder".

oh never thought about doing this.  I have dbpoweramp as well may have to give this a try.  Will it still be able to sync the coverart if you use an external encoder?

Well gave this a try more to see how it worked than whether I would really need or want lossless on my ipod.

One issue with it that is very annoying is when MC launches the external encoder it opens a new cmd window each time even if you have the encoder set to silent output.  This makes using the computer while syncing near impossible because it also steals focus.  Anyway for me to fix this behaviour?  Note I have coreconverter setup to output nothing to stdout or stderr.
