get cover art via scanner doesnt work-v.336
« on: July 30, 2002, 12:57:59 pm »

I tried some times now to obtain cover art using MJ properties, "get cover art" function.

My first step was to select scanner - it showed the program that I use with my scanner - Ultima 2000 2.92 (the scanner is an Amitech 230 USB scanner) - and I chose it.

My next step was to choose "get from scanner" and it opened in an MJ window this scanning program and it began to make the preview scan.

After that, I chose to make the final scan and MJ crashed during this process. Everytime in those 5 instances I have tried i, MJ has crashed.

Jim, if you mean me, the answer is yes I did, as described earlier.

When selecting the "select scanner" is shows a list of one item, with the program that I use with my scanner. And I did select it.

When i then choose "get from scanner" the scanning program opens up in MJ "style" and it does do a preview scan when i tell it to do so, but during the final scan MJ crashes.

Don't know.  Sorry.

What brand of scanner?  If it were mine, I might try reinstalling the software that came with it.  Worth a try.

Both scanner and newest software and driver was installed just a few days ago as I have done a Win XP reinstall on the pc.

Isnt a major problem for me though, as I normally use the program and the scanner seperately when scanning cover art. Of course it would make it a lot easier to use MJ as an "interface" to this.

Just wanted to report that there is a problem using this function with my scanner and program.
