iPod Touch Issue
« on: July 11, 2008, 07:39:39 pm »

I'm having a hard time testing the 523 build out with my iPod Touch because MC keeps crashing during sync.  All 3rd party plugins are uninstalled and I've initialized before sync. Is there a place I can send a logfile of the process?

For the iPhone and Touch, you need iTunes installed.  Make sure it's current.

If it continues to crash, please send a log to matt at jriver dot com.

Thanks.

I did a fresh OS install (I've been meaning to) and then tried a sync of my library onto my iPod Touch.  I wanted to make sure that there were no weird anomalies related to how my computer had been used over time.  About an hour into it, I started getting errors on the transfers, I canceled the sync and tried to pick it up again where it left off, but it crashed my iPod on the next sync attempt.  I'll try logging it this time and see if the same thing happens and keep you informed on what happens.  Thanks for the help!

Are other people having trouble syncing their iPod Touches and iPhones (1.1.4)?  I'd especially like to know if Jailbroken vs. non-jailbroken are having similar troubles.

Build 12.0.523 has an important change for iPods in general.  It's on the MC12 board, at the top.

It may affect this.  I'm not sure.

build 523 is the one I was using.  I tried it again.  First two attempts failed right away with a silent crash of MC.  The third went okay for about 40 minutes and then I started getting errors on the transfers.  I stopped the transfer, unhooked and rehooked the iPod, and started it again.  It crashed the iPod like before, forcing a reboot of the Touch's OS.  I'm not sure why this is happening, any insights?

I'm e-mailing the crash log to you Matt.

I don't think the logs made it through.  There's an email button on the logging dialog.

I'm matt at jriver dot com.

Thanks.

Nevermind, found them.  The different name threw me.
