Internal play buffer error
« on: July 29, 2002, 10:37:20 am »

Hi,

Trying to play a wave file in MJ 8.0.336 gives me the following error.

"Internal play buffer error: playing buffer accumulated too much spent data.

Please report this error to JRiver as soon as possible so that it can be fixed."

And it is impossible to get rid of this error. Pressing OK (the only button I get) gives me the same error again. I had to kill it from Windows 2000 task bar.

Winamp 2.8 plays this wave file without any problem.

This wave file is a 24-bit/176.4kHz PCM stereo data. I created this using ssrc from a 16-bit/44.1kHz PCM stereo. I can see that my sound card's mixer shows this as 176.4kHz stream when I play this file with winamp.

any ideas? thanks,
Osho

Well It Should Not Crash MJ.

But As Far As I Know MJ Does Not Play Compressed Wav Files Yet If This Wave Is Compressed (Could Be Wrong But I Don't Think So, I Am Normaly Right Ask My Wife).

This is not compressed Wav file -  a regular wav file. Winamp shows it as such and plays it without any problem.

Move the Options -> Playback -> Performance slider towards "More skip resistant" and restart MJ.  That may fix the problem until we have a chance to address it in a future build.

My OUtput Mode is Wave Out(Default)
Bitdepth is Source bitdepth
Performance is at More Skip Resistant (maximum skip resistant I can make it).
Device is Wave mapper (recommended).

I still get this error.

OS : W2K (with all the latest updates)
Sound Card: Lynx L22 (supports upto 24/200kHz).

thanks,
