Using 8.0.336, and Windows ME, had something happen that might help more experience people than me understand what's going on...
I can't play or rip in digital, (since ver 7) using a GCE 8160B CD-RW, and Aspi (tried going back to 4.60 and) 4.71) yet the same setup will work in digital with Windows Media player and also CDnGo.
Anyway, I happened to be tinkering and deliberately deleted the CD-RW device in Control Panel/System/Device Manager/. Without rebooting, MJ 8.0.336 then would play and rip in digital. Go figure! When I shut down and then cold-booted, I saw no dialog to say, "updating hardware settings". When I checked the 'Device manager' setting, the CD-RW was back, under normal settings. MJ would then again NOT play or rip in digital.
