Help! All my music sounds like Jimi Hendrix!
« on: September 03, 2008, 07:23:00 pm »

I just updated to 12.0.533 and now all of my music sounds like it's being played on an old scratched 45. Not sure what happened -- it all still sounds fine in windows media player.

I was away for a week so it's possible a windows update caused a problem instead of the MC update.

How do I go about diagnosing the problem and fixing it? I'm using XP SP2 and an onboard audio card, if that helps.

Thanks in advance...

There was a recent change to the default sound routing that some motherboard soundcards don't like.

Try different routing modes in Options > Playback > Output mode settings... > Channels

Stop playback (with the stop button) between changes.
