Album Art Sync issue
« on: September 17, 2008, 08:05:22 pm »

The album art on my hard drive is fine.  I look on my 160 g Classic and at the album level the art is fine.  But for individual songs the album art is all mixed up. How can I correct this? I tried resyncing.

I'm not sure.  There was a cover art bug with one of the iPods a few months ago.  It was an iPod bug.

Another way cover art can get confused is if there is a single folder.jpg file in a directory with many audio tracks.  MC will use it.

Yes so all my music has a single jpg per album. For example 12 m4a files and one jpg file

So is there a way to fix this issue besides blowing away all my music and resyncing?

I'm sorry, but I don't know.

With other formats of music, MC could store the cover art in the tags of the files.  With m4a, I don't think that's possible.

You could test conversion of a few files to MP3 when you sync.  If you're using DirectShow to play m4a, that might work.

Actually m4a can store the tags. I am now fixing things in itunes. But using dbpoweramp I can view/edit m4a tags and for those I have fixed the cover art is in the tag. MJ farkled tha tags it appears

I don't think MJ or MC can write a tag in an m4a file.  We play those files with Quicktime.
