Messy track order
« on: September 27, 2008, 01:30:43 pm »

Hi,
i just discovered than 3 discs i recently ripped in flac format have a wrong track order : one is 5 10 1 9 3 6 7 8 2 4 altough sorted only by track number. Value of the field "track #" is fine, as file names. One of the disc was ripped and imported in MC12, before i installed MC13. I checked in MC12 and the order on that disc was correct. The two others discs aren't in my MC12 library.

Did you know about that problem?

Is shuffle on?  Small buttons in upper right corner.

I checked, shuffle is off.

This is getting weird, the order is right on playlists and on Playing Now if i do a "Add to playing now" on the album thumbnail.
The "disorder" appears only in views, for a few albums.

Check if the field Disc # is populated. If yes, clear it.

when you look at the sorting in customize view, set it to default. i had the same thing with the track numbers and 'resetting' the sorting in the view helped.

Thanks for your help, i tried your suggestions but none of them worked...

Now to add to the weirdness, i found another messy album (still a flac rip), which is fine when tracks are sorted in decreasing order (23 22 21 20 19 ... 3 2 1) but wrong on increasing order  :o (20 21 22 23 1 2 3 4.. 19)...

I looked at the other messy albums and indeed decreasing order is never the reverse of the increasing order for those. I've made these tests with a sort only on "track number" (this was the only column with the sorting arrow).
