iPod not playing m4a and m4p files

MC plays m4a and m4p without problems, but my iPod Classic (160GB) doesn't want to play them after having been synced (no problem to play mp3). Anyone  any suggestions?

I run iTunes 7.6.2.9 (and have no intention toi upgrade)

Am I the only one with this issue...?

I am wondering whether it may have something to do with iTunes settings (which I don't use now, but did when I initially purchased the files), limiting the number of "computers" to play the m4p a
