Has the Analyze Audio algorithm ever changed?
« on: October 05, 2008, 10:01:34 pm »

I was just listening to music and one track came on particularly loud. I checked and it did have values for Album Gain and Peak Level, so it had been analyzed before. But, for the heck of it, I decided to reanalyze it and got significantly new values for both. So, now I'm wondering if the analysis algorithm has ever changed and if I should reanalyze my music.

I suspect the original analysis was done a few years ago, probably with MC 11.

one thing that has changed is the value that is used for gain when there is a silent track. first the value was 100 something, now it is 51dB. when there is a silent track in the album, this has enough influence on album gain.
