« on: July 24, 2002, 10:04:18 am »

just converted a ogg song to mp3 (for my rio).
After the coversion, I needed to refresh (F5) so I can see the file at the left window / media libray/file location

Here I go again...
After converting the ogg file manually to mp3 I uploaded it to the Rio.
Now I get a problem I saw in previos versions, I get the artist name showed insted of the track name.
So all of the songs on the Bunkka cd, appear as Paul Oakenfold.

*Do you have the Settings->Options->Conveter Settings "Update Media Jukebox database" box checked? If not, check this box and the Media Library will be updated after conversion.  If you get the next version of MJ when it becomes available you will be able to do this on the fly like you requested in your other thread.

** I cannot duplicate this. I converted an ogg file to an mp3 and then copied the file to the Rio 500. My Rio 500 displayed the Track Name and underneath the Name, Artist-Album info as I expected. If you would like to email me your file, I can try to duplicate your problem. steve @ jriver.com.  What firmware version do you have? I have 2.16

Seteve thanks a lot for the friendly help, and your prompt answer.
My fault!
I forgot that I turned off the song display in order to enlarge the font.

Anyways Steve, your mailbox can't accept songs. it declaind accepting the one I sent twice.

Waht is the max bit rate the rio 500 can hadle? I tried a 256K and it skips.

nivw,

As far as I know there is no limitation on the bitrate. Can you try creating some 256 kbps files, listen to them before you send them to the Rio (to be sure they are flawless before the transfer) and then send them to see if the skipping occurs after the transfer?

This will begin to tell us where the problem might be.

Thanks,

Steve
