Theater view start screen

It would be very neat if theater view could have something added to the start screen that could be used to show different content.  I would like it to include basic current weather conditions, perhaps a few recent news stories, and most importantly, a list of new content.  I add content all the time and a way to essentially advertise this without having to drill down to a New Content playlist would be very useful.

It should be turn-off-able and unobtrusive.  I don't want it looking stupid.
