MC13 Crashing During Playback After Several Songs...
« on: December 30, 2008, 12:04:00 pm »

He all,

I'm using the latest Media Center 13.0.95.  It consistently crashes after several songs.  Its been crashing through all (or at least most) versions of 13.  My last version, 11, worked fine. Its probably something simple.

I tried to send the log file, but it is 15 Megs and my system wouldn't send it.  What should I do?

Thanks!

In my signature, there is a link to a thread called Weird Problems.  In it you'll find possible causes.  Not being logged in with Audioscrobbler, for example.  Plug-ins can cause problems.  Etc.

Thanks, as always, for the quick reply.

I have sent a new log file to Matt's email.  This one is smaller.  I am not, as far as I can tell, using Audioscrobbler.  Actually, I had already looked at that thread.  I searched my drives for "Audioscrobbler" and found "int_AudioScrobbler.dll" in C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 13\Plugins, but I doubt this would cause the problem.

We need to simplify.  Please disable audio visualizations (pick Cover Art) and DSP.

Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

Matt saw my log file via email and suggested I disable visualizations.  I've been away all day, but so far it seems to have worked.  I am messing with it now.  I had been using the Track Info "Clean Info" (thanks micahmj11!) which I modified a little to my tastes.  I think it was set to cycling through all the visualizations.  I have set JRMC13 to Cover Art as he suggested and it made it through several hours without crashing.

Bummer, cause I really like it.  I hope this is just a bug...

Thanks, Matt!  Now what?
