getting cover art onto my portable device
« on: January 03, 2009, 09:09:12 am »

i've got an iPhone which i know is not supported by MC. i've got a playlist of ~1400 songs that when i used MC to put on my old iPod, all the cover art copied and displayed fine.

however, when i import the playlist into iTunes and sync my iPod, only about 70% of the artwork shows up on my iPhone.

to counteract this, i would like to find a way to take all the artwork that is associated with the files in my MC library and embed them into the file themselves, in addition to the folder.jpg setup that i have now. however, i only want the cover art in the 1400 files that im syncing to my iPhone because there is no reason to inflate the size of my other 50,000 files.

is there an easy way MC can find which files don't have embedded cover art and then copy the cover art that is associated with the file from the MC library and put it in the file as well?

Set the option to embed art (Options > File location)

Then do Update Tags (from library) on the files you want changed.

I would recommend putting art inside all your files, but it is a personal preference thing.
