I have a 5 second time set for my slide shows.  I did the math to calculate how many min and sec of songs I would need to play during the show, and picked songs that totaled almost down to the second.  Lo and behold, when I ran the slide show for my family year-in-review (pics totaled 21 min and 30 sec, or so I thought), my music quit about two-thirds of the way through!  After playing with the slide show timings, it appears that transitions add unspecified length to my overall time.  Apparently the transition time is NOT included in the 5 seconds (is this right?)  My 21+ min slide show was closer to 30 minutes.

If this is the case, how can I calculate the length of my entire show?  It seems like the transitions aren't necessarily the same length, and I want to be exact with my overall timing of my slide show, without, of course, having to sit down with a stopwatch...

The image change timer doesn't run until the transition is complete.  It's not an exact science, but figure a couple extra seconds per image.

However--is this not a BIG problem?  Does no one else want to throw together a slideshow and be able to put music with it and not be off by several minutes?  This seems like a pretty major deal to me.  In fact, this is almost a dealbreaker.  I can't believe that this hasn't come up many times before.  To sit down and put together a quick slideshow is a GREAT feature, but it's rendered totally useless if there's no way to properly gauge the length.

Any chance that the transitions could all be made the same length, or maybe at least the same length for different types?  Ex: all rolls the same length, all wipes the same length, etc.

I think they are, but I don't know the exact millisecond length.  I can check the code.

But the system isn't really designed for atomic-accuracy or user-defined synchronization of images and music.  Couldn't you just put an extra song or two in your playlist?

Thanks--any info that would help me would be nice.  I know it sounds nitpicky, but I really thought this would be one of the first considerations for a slideshow feature...

If you use pan and zoom, transitions are 1.5 seconds.  Otherwise they are 0.5 seconds.
