Any progress here?

I'd think that a similar voting system as that of the cover art database would be great.

o Use a "globally accepted ID" for each movie, such as the ID from IMDB.
o Only upload/download to/from the clients, then there won't be any rights/$ issues with IMDB.
o Treat all fields + all cover art as one blob. Two sets of metadata are equal only if all fields are equal.
o Use a of "string distance algorithm" between client and DB to allow the user to select from different movies
o A user should be able to inspect metadata before selecting.

I'm sure such a DB would be fairly comprehensive in no time...
