MC12 And MC13 Installs
« on: January 19, 2009, 08:07:30 pm »

I Was Looking Thru Add And Remove Programs, And I Have A MC12 And A MC13 Install In there.

Should I Uninstall MC12 Or Would That Effect MC13?

It's safe to uninstall MC12.

I did. It's not like MC12 is even worth thinking about anymore.  Remember 11?

Maybe in the future we can have the installer ask to delete older versions of MC and mj to keep add and remove cleaned up?

I always want to use the latest and greatest version.

I am however always grateful my wife has never upgraded me in the past 33 years. If she did i might be living under a bridge, and right now be very cold (It snowed here 2 days ago).

A word of warning:

MC13 may be using cover art from MC12's application data folder if an MC12 library was imported. The default location for saved cover art files is under the application data folder.

The "Remove library files" option in the uninstaller wipes the application data folder completely.

MC13 has a new tool: "Save Cover Art To Location Specified In Options". It can be used for copying the cover art files and fixing the cover art links accordingly.

I still wish MC could self update minor version increases in the background and allow a one-click restart & update -- or auto install on idle timeout.
