no AVI playback at client

I have MC13 13.0.114 installed on 2 computers, one of which is a server. There are some large avi files on the server which play on that machine. However on the client machine the sound is heard but no video is seen, just a blank screen with the MC icon. I believe the format is XVID.

However other AVIs recorded with my Canon camera do play.

Could you please advise on what I could do here?

It sounds like you don't have codecs for playing XVid on the client.
Try installling CCCP.
