can't play something I downloadded
« on: February 03, 2009, 06:56:39 am »

Last night I downloaded an album (Bigelf, Cheating the Gallows), and it won't play.  The player says Opening...and then skips to the next track, and then the next track, for about three tracks and then stops.  It will play my previously downloaded stuff.  I updated to build 86 to see if it was a glitch with 83, but no improvement.
Are there rights problems with this particular album?

Thanks
Aaron

First right-click one of the files in question and select "Locate on Disc - External" and see if MC actually know where the file really is located.

If this is not the problem then:

-Select one of the tracks in question,

-click on the Action Window for TAGS

-once in the tag window, click at the top on the top line (which shows the file format and size) this will now show the files 'detailed format information" where you can see the encoding details such as Bit Depth and Frequency

I strongly suspect you have either a higher bit-depth/frequency than the standard 16/44,100 or perhaps some other encoding discrepancy.
