Alternate video player
« on: February 14, 2009, 04:41:21 pm »

From the New Features list:
VIDEO FEATURES
1.  Support for High Quality YouTube videos
2.  Ability to use another player for playback

I've been searching for how to do this for a couple hours.  I've searched the
forum and the wiki, but I cannot find anything.  Please point out
to me how I do this.  I'm certain I somehow am missing where it is explained.

This is a big one for me.  I am finding MC13 a little flaky, crashes and hangs.  But
I will buy for sure if I can use vlc.  I cannot get direct show to play movies
without stalling, which is wreaking my whole 10 foot interface.

Thanks

welcum, 8)

when you go to tools>options>file types you can set how every file type is played back. choose external default or custom, depending on what you want and how windows default is set. if you need more help just post again...

Are you using the latest version of MC13?  If you're having trouble playing video, it may be the DirectShow filters.  Do you have CCCP installed?

You can find more on troubleshooting in the link called "Stability" in my signature.
