Are any OSD improvements planned for some upcoming releases such as the ability to add or remove certain elements from the list?  I would utilize this ability and it would really help with ideas of new OSD items because they could be off by default.

In theater view, use arrows to bring up the OSD.  There is a long list when watching video.  I would like the option to selectively remove certain items on certain machines.  I obviously don't want any of these features removed permanently because they are all useful in a variety of cases.

Good point. I'd probably remove hue, saturation, brightness etc.

I would too because they do not function for me.  It's probably a setting somewhere that's wrong.  But the ability to hide list items would be great.

I'd still like the option to see the OSD as a cascading menu. (perhaps using the new roller system?)

It makes it easier to navigate the option for the less knowledgeable users.

The root structure could look something like...

Playback Options (position, position in list, etc)
Stream Options (Subtitles, audio streams, video streams)
View Adjustments (Hue, Stauration, Brightness, etc)

Obviously quick access to the last option used would still be necessary, and you wouldn't want to bury something too far (if at all)

I posted a similar hierarchy several months ago.  I always picture the full screen menus of TVs & Receivers.  It could be a major menu--possibly even requiring the user to push a button other than arrow.

Other users tend to get lost in the list of options.  I myself don't even know the order so I usually have to scroll through the entire list to find the item I need.

WHile we're talking about improvements, I must say that I found hte MC12 OSD better, in that it took up less height at the bottom of the screen. The MC13 OSD is more intrusive in this regard.

But it doesn't get cut off on a poorly setup overscan screen.  I prefer the new one!  By my suggestion, I was describing a full screen, totally obtrusive menu.

I also prefer the new one. Confishy's suggesting to use the rollers is an interesting idea...I am not sure it will work but sure does not hurt to try, because it will add to the consistency of the interface. Maybe just having it at the bottom of the screen instead on top is enough to differentiate it from the navigation rollers.
