Hi,

I have noticed a change in behavior of Panes and Details view (for Video). When I select Panes and Details view, I see Panes on top and details below with columns such as Name, Keywords, Ratings etc. This is as expected. However, when I select a particular Genre or Artists in the Panes above and the number of files that match that particular Genre or Artists fall below a certain number of files then the details window displays thumbnails and not the "real details view" with various columns.

Is this a feature or a bug? This is driving me crazy for properly tagging my Videos.

i know mc has a little mind of her own.. but i tried to reproduce what you see. panes above, details below, even when i choose something in the panes that has one file in details, it will still give me details, no thumbs..

Did you try this for Video?

It works fine for me in Audio. It is Video that gives me this problem.

yes video and the rest like you described and the last build from that moment.

i dont know.. i have the list change icons in my toolbar. maybe when it happend a while ago and i clicked details it  remembered..  ?

that was what i thought you were seeing. when you make a new view in the video tree, does it also happen?

watched the video a bit closer. could it be that you include data files in that view, or at least not video only...

details should be details, nothing else..

similair is the sorting (when locked is on in settings) if you temporary sort inside a view, it will be reset if you choose another selection in the pane, so locking sorting it's kind of useless

yes.. (you added something ) i think this is an other problem. the programm changes view based on the artist clicked. and it changes it because i gues there are some data files in the artist for that view. now the view is set to panes and details, the moment you click on an artist without datafiles it jumps to thumbview ignoring what is set for the view...



osho: one thing to get it working seems to be hitting Ctrl + Shift + i at the moment you have thumbnails in that view.

and to answer the tittle question, it seems like a bug to me.

but there are some strange things here, also for example if you choose detailed view (not the panes) it will always go first to thumbnails, even though you have choosen "album/details"

yes, i agree lasse. just like in 12 i added the list detail/list thumbnail/list album thumbnail icons to the bottom toolbar, makes switching between easier to predict.

now i remember.. you have iso files in there.

the ctrl + shift + i trick works and seems to be remembered after restarting...

Yes, I do have some iso and other data files in there for video playback.

And, the Ctrl + Shift + I trick does work. Now, I always get the details. Nevertheless, I think this is a bug that should be fixed. It could be very frustrating to those who don't know about Ctrl + Shift + I trick.
