works fine excpet that all virtualization software have a very hard time with audio and video beyond the very simplest/basic stuff.

Works well for me but there is NO 3d since VBox doesn't support directx 3d.

I could live with basic and mini view (probably some display view, no 3d).  Glad to hear good responses.  I will have to give it a try.

virtualbox supports a large subset of OpenGL (v3) very well right now.  Just not very fast.

I just setup VirtualBox on my MacPro and it is running very well.  In this case, I have a KVM to switch between Windows and my Mac so it isn't critical but it's a good test.  At some point I will install it on my Macbook Pro -- where it really counts.  It is a pain that I have to deal with the entire operating system, though.  I still wish Media Center could be an operating system...of course then I'd say Why Can't I install firefox or whatever...
