Can't play some AVI files

Hello,

I had everything working perfect, then my computer crashed.

Most of my files are AVI.

My movies play but the TV series wont.

Directshow class factory canott supply requested class 0x80040111 is the message I am getting.

I have installed ccc codec pack

but nothing else.

do I need powerdvd?

AVI files may contain a wide variety of video formats.  You need to know what is in the avi file in order to figure out what decoder filters you will need.

The drive was corrupted.
