ASIO help
« on: April 08, 2009, 05:54:57 pm »

I'm a newb to all things sound so be kind :) I have an Creative X-Fi card running to M-Audio AV40s. When changing my output to ASIO and running the Creative ASIO driver (haven't tried ASIO4All yet) I experience no sound difference from DirectSound. When I unmap my card to bypass the kmixer the sound output through MJ is fantastic! But, I lose all other sounds (windows, youtube, etc) even when MJ is closed down. Is there a way to run ASIO through MJ while still retaining the other sounds capability, without rebooting and changing settings every time I want to play ASIO-out music using MJ? Thanks in advance.

what os are you using? asio4all will not always make you happier.. that you cant playback some other program sounds when mc (or an other program) are using the asio drivers is part of what asio is about. but it should be released when closing the application.. dont know about the kmixer you talk about...

welcume to the forums
