ASPI - Please help a newbie
« on: April 27, 2003, 08:34:49 am »

For CD burner, I can't uncheck the "two second gap between tracks". It is grayed out. Same for "generic driver". I've read the FAQ and still don't get this. My CD writer (TEAC  DW-224E) is one of the supported drivers and shows up on the Detect line. According to the system info below, I have ASPI. I've tried downloading newer ASPI drivers from the ASPI page. File downloads and unzips but nothing else happens. I don't understand the instructions on the ASPI page regarding executing the file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
FWIW, I also have Real One Player Plus and it works without any problems (i.e., no problems with two second gap). The reason I purchased MJ is because the CD label maker for Real One Player leaves a lot to be desired. System info:

In the MJ settings for CD, try unchecking "use generic driver".  Or checking.  I don't remember which way it needs to be set.

Well I just downloaded MC9 for a trial 30 days and it is leaps and bounds better than 8. Guess I'll spend the extra $20. and upgrade.
No two second gap either. :)

I had the same problem with MJ8, same thing, could not get rid of the 2 second gap (track at once) and be able to burn using DAO (disc at once).

Finally, I copied the WINASPI.dll file from Nero to the MJ program dir and Presto, everything starting working.

I have not had this issue at all using MC9.
