Hello,

I love the MC13 interface and functionality, but the main reason I paid $40 to upgrade was for WASAPI support. WASAPI exclusive mode in XMPLAY works flawlessly in comparison. When I listen closely on soft music in MC13 I can hear occasional pops/clicks in the background. It's subtle, but it's there. WASAPI with exclusive mode unchecked does not have the issue.

Some additional details:

-No plug-ins running, and no visualizations
-Output to USB DAC, open device for exclusive access and flush device buffers both checked. I have also had flush device buffers unchecked, no difference.
-Buffering set to .05 seconds and prebuffer set to 2 seconds. I have tried different settings on both of these, no change.
-Playing 16/44.1 stereo FLAC files
-DSP settings are unchecked. I have also tried setting the output format to 16/44.1. No change.
-System info:

I thought I heard some anomalies the first time I listened to WASAPI.  I eventually realized I was hearing all of the sound and not just part of it.

With WASAPI, the digital stream is passed directly to the sound device without any processing.

Try 0.50 seconds for the buffer.  A hiccup may mean the buffer ran short of data.

You'll need to restart playback for changes to take effect.

No, I'm comparing it against XMPLAY WASAPI exclusive, Foobar Asio, Winamp Kernel streaming. All are bit perfect output. The popping isn't on the source recording. It's definitely the MC13 WASAPI implementation. There are no pops on any song with XMPLAY. There are on every song with MC13.

I set it to .5, and songs now skip outright, followed by MC locking up and shutting down. At .05, there was no skipping or hiccuping. It's not that type of issue. It's more like mild background popping and clicking like you might hear on an old vinyl recording. Otherwise songs play fine and sound fine, except for this tick every few seconds.

Another thought is that you might try updating your soundcard drivers.  There are a lot of users using WASAPI, and this isn't something we've heard before.

I generally disable all DSP in any program. It's disabled in MC13 too. No good.

That seemed to do the trick, Matt! It's a reasonably new PC and I hadn't thought of it. Just updated the sigmatel drivers and seems ok now.
