Genre Tags Misread?
« on: May 04, 2009, 11:23:45 pm »

Hi!

It looks like a whole bunch of my library is tagged wrong... the genre field now has a number instead of a genre name.  NOT the whole album tho... just random tracks it seems.

..the funny thing is, DBPoweramp displays the genre correctly.

I've been fixing these files, but now I'm starting to think there's more to the story.

Please make sure you're using the latest version from the top of this board, because this sounds like a problem from a few months back:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=15.0

After upgrading, right-click the files and pick "Update Library (from tags)".

Thanks, and let us know if it helps.

Interesting...

I am using 161 here.. Latest, right?

I tried the 'Update Tags from Library' and it went thru the process, with no errors.  But the genres are still messed up.

But geez, now it looks like the genre field has been deleted entirely. (according to DBPoweramp)

Help!

Wait, I should have used "Update Library (from tags)"?   Did I just permanently screw my tags up?

Unbelievable.
